The Boy In The Striped Pajamas
I have chosen to observe the opening sequence to a film called 'The Boy In The Striped Pajamas,' directed by David Herman. This would not have been one of my go-to choices for an opening sequence, however after watching the film recently the opening sequence really intruiged me as it was beautifully made and really set the scene for the film. The first eight titles appear in the middle of the screen over a shot slowly zooming out of the Nazi flag. After this we see four young boys running around the streets of Berlin playing a game pretending to be airplanes. This is accompanied by a piano solo by James Horner. Throughout the rest of the titles we see a lady arriving home to an upper class house that is full of maids doing various jobs.
